Current Applicants

Change PIN/Personal/Contact Details

The Current Applicant online service allows applicants to change their postal address, telephone/fax/mobile numbers, email address, PIN and register to receive notification of QTAC correspondence electronically. Alternatively, applicants can contact QTAC in writing with their Application Number, full name, date of birth and the contact details to be changed.

There are some details listed on the QTAC application that cannot be changed by the applicant through Current Applicant online services.  These details include:

  • Date of birth
  • Name
  • Citizenship status
  • Gender
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander status

If any of these details are incorrect, applicants need to contact QTAC in writing.  Applicants will need to post or fax QTAC with their Application Number, details of the information being amended and three pieces of identification separate to the information being amended (eg full name, date of birth, postal address, email address, PIN).

If applicants are changing citizenship status or name details, a certified copy of the official documentation should also be provided (eg permanent residency visa, certificate of name change).

Update Qualifications

If an applicant left out a qualification when lodging their application they will have to let QTAC know in writing, as they cannot re-enter the application and add new qualifications after the application has been lodged.

If there was a mistake entering a qualification such as the dates or institution listed, the applicant will again have to contact QTAC in writing to have that qualification amended.

Applicants cannot remove qualifications from an application, especially academic qualifications.

Electronic Correspondence

QTAC may need to contact applicants for further information regarding their application.  Applicants who supply a valid email address will be notified electronically of these requests.

All letters associated with the assessment of an application can be accessed electronically.  Some letters will still be sent in the ordinary post, including the acknowledgement of receipt of application, offers of places, advice of outstanding fees and mail related to the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT).

When there is correspondence to collect, applicants will receive an email, which will contain a link to their Electronic Correspondence. After clicking on the link, applicants will be asked to enter their PIN and then they can view and print their electronic correspondence online.

Alternatively, applicants can login to Current Applicant online services at any time and click on the Electronic correspondence tab to view their correspondence from QTAC.

Find Out QTAC Application Number and PIN

All applicants have a QTAC Application Number and PIN.

The Application Number is located on:

  • any piece of correspondence from QTAC (excluding emails);
  • the Confirmation of Lodgement for ABW and TTT applicants;
  • the Payment Receipt for paper applications if lodged in person at QTAC;
  • the Acknowledgement of Application letter received within two weeks of mailing your paper application to QTAC.

The PIN is initially set to the day and month of your birth.  For example, your PIN would be 0405 if your date of birth was the fourth of May.  If applicants change their PIN they should keep a record of the new number.

If an applicant cannot locate their Application Number or PIN they can obtain it:

Authorise Another Person to Act on Your Behalf

For reasons of security and confidentiality, QTAC will not provide information about an application to anyone but the applicant or someone who has been authorised to act on their behalf.

Anyone who is given authorisation to act on an applicant's behalf will gain full access to information included in the QTAC application.  This includes Application Number and PIN, and the ability to change preferences and respond to offers.  Therefore, if an applicant is authorising somebody to act on their behalf they should ensure they appoint someone they trust with that personal information and responsibility.

An applicant can authorise another person to act on their behalf at time of application or via Current Applicant online services.

Withdraw an Application

Due to security reasons QTAC is unable to withdraw an application unless the request is made in writing.  The letter should be addressed to the CEO of QTAC and must contain the applicant's full name, date of birth, full address, QTAC Application number and signature.  Letters should be sent to address below:
