How to Apply
QTAC is accepting applications for the Commonwealth Scholarships Program and institution equity scholarships for low-income students for many of QTAC's participating institutions.
By submitting one application through QTAC you are considered for both Commonwealth and Institution scholarships. You can lodge one scholarship application only in any one admissions period. If you want to make changes to your scholarship application after you have lodged it, please contact QTAC Information Services on 1300 GO QTAC (1300 467 822). Do not submit a new application.
Late applications for equity scholarships can still be lodged now for Semester 1, 2009 courses.
There is no cost for your scholarship application.
Do I apply for equity scholarships through QTAC for all universities?
Your scholarship application can be made to QTAC for the following institutions;
- CQUniversity
- Griffith University
- James Cook University
- Queensland University of Technology
- The University of Queensland
- University of Southern Queensland
- University of the Sunshine Coast.
Exceptions
- Australian Catholic University
- Bond University
- Southern Cross University
- University of New England
Applicants for scholarships at these institutions should contact them directly.
Who can apply?
Any prospective or current tertiary student with a low income should consider lodging an application for these equity scholarships.
New applicants or students changing institutions
New applicants lodge their QTAC application for tertiary study and then, if they believe they are eligible, lodge an equity scholarship application. When applying for a Scholarship, you log into the application with your QTAC application number and PIN so that identifying data such as your name, date of birth, address, contact details, citizenship from your QTAC application will be transferred to the Scholarship application.
Please note the scholarship application is an optional and separate application; it is not required for consideration of a tertiary place. Your application for a scholarship will not affect your QTAC application for tertiary study and you are not obligated to submit a scholarship application.
Continuing students
Continuing tertiary students, ie those already studying at a university apply via QTAC's online scholarship application for scholarships. You will be required to enter identifying data such as your name, address, citizenship status, and information regarding your current study as part of your scholarship application. QTAC is able to retrieve data regarding your current tertiary study.
In some cases, students receive direct entry to institutions. These students should complete the Scholarship application as a continuing student.
